When I heard about Amir Mirzaei Hekmati on the news, I wanted learn more about him. The most important thing I learned about Hekmati is that we have to help save him. I found out Amir Mirzaei Hekmati is an American who served our country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps as an Arabic translator. I learned that Hekmati was visiting his grandmother in Iran when he was falsely convicted of crimes against God and the Iranian government for being a CIA spy for the U.S. They disregarded Hekmati’s American citizenship and sentenced him to death. Hekmati has 20 days to appeal.
